@neanderthalsnavel NextCloud works like GoogleDrive or OneDrive. You have access to it via File Manager or Finder and can save files to it locally without being on web browser or something. Syncthing is powerful opensource syncing software between your devices, not a cloud service. But if your goal is to have files mirrored on your devices and have version control, then it works without it being a remote server (cloud). But if it all burns down in a fire, your files are lost.

@neanderthalsnavel Synology also has "cloud sync" but it fucked up my file structures, and made my NAS cycle the hard-drives non-stop, so I opted to sync files from my phone, and computers to the NAS with Syncthing instead.
