Kaidan will receive a grant for end-to-end encrypted audio and video calls: kaidan.im/2022/09/03/audio-vid

@Djeep that is from 2017 and there is zero evidence for it having happened.

@adam I have been deep on Baric, concerning furin cleavage insertion at s1/s2, battified mice GOF with novel CV, but this is the first time I have seen this tidbit about his extensive research into inducing myocarditis

From Gumby4Christ on Twitter:

Ralph Baric's lab spent a considerable amount of time and money in the 80s/90s researching how to induce heart disease with coronaviruses.

@nyx right. I'm six figures in student loan debt, but don't qualify for this as grad school loans don't qualify. But it will certainly help some people a lot.

Way more people pissed about partial student loan forgiveness for undergrads than the increased pentagon budget, the billions to weapons manufacturers masked as aid to Ukraine, the 70 billion in weapons left in Afghanistan, the billions to Pfizer and Moderna for the "vaccines." Do you get this pissed when people or businesses file for bankruptcy, because you can't declare bankruptcy for student loans?

@Sabex I keep coming back to Antennaepod bc it just works, autodownload with no SIM. Podverse has more cool features, Chapters, Live, but it breaks and gets stuck constantly because I operate on wifi, no SIM, so I am offline a lot. Podverse never actually downloads what I have set to autodownload.

Great news everyone! The company that has been mapping the interior of everyone's homes has been acquired by Amazon. "This could lead to exciting new innovations in the years ahead"

@neanderthalsnavel What I liked about OneDrive, was that when I was in school I could log into any computer on campus and my my files were there through File Manager when OneDrive was logged in. Nextcloud isn't installed by default on all Windows computers, so it is not going to be as convenient for random computers. But you can always log into your nextcloud from browser and access your files or upload files that way.

@neanderthalsnavel Synology also has "cloud sync" but it fucked up my file structures, and made my NAS cycle the hard-drives non-stop, so I opted to sync files from my phone, and computers to the NAS with Syncthing instead.

@neanderthalsnavel NextCloud works like GoogleDrive or OneDrive. You have access to it via File Manager or Finder and can save files to it locally without being on web browser or something. Syncthing is powerful opensource syncing software between your devices, not a cloud service. But if your goal is to have files mirrored on your devices and have version control, then it works without it being a remote server (cloud). But if it all burns down in a fire, your files are lost.

@neanderthalsnavel LibreOffice or Open Office replace Microsoft office suite. NextCloud is another good option to replace OneDrive if you don't want a NAS at your house. You can self host Nextcloud or you can pay for someone else to host github.com/nextcloud/providers

@neanderthalsnavel I had 365 a few years for the 6TB of OneDrive storage, but have happily transitioned to a Synology Disk Station + Tailscale + Syncthing and LibreOffice. Its work to move away from the centralized services, but feels so good when you make those steps.
